Gradebook Only Assignments

Sometimes you need a place to stick a grade for student work that does not require student submissions, think: Participation or Extra Credit.

 

Creating Gradebook Only Assignments

  1. On the Grades page, click "+Add New Grade" in the top right corner.

  2. In the Assignment Name section, give the assignment a name.

  3. In the Assignment Parts section, create the first part of the assignment. It is fine if you only have one part.

    1. Enter in the Assignment Part Name

    2. Enter in the Maximum Point Value associated with this part. If it is an extra credit part, check the Extra Credit checkbox.

    3. For additional parts, click the "+Add Part" button and repeat steps 3a and 3b for each part.

  4. Click "Save."

  5. The Grades page will now reload.

 

Grading Gradebook Only Assignments

  1. On the Grades page, filter your gradebook by Assignments.

  2. In the left column, select the Gradebook Only Assignment.

  3. In the right column, expand the part you wish to grade.

  4. Find the student you'd like to grade.

  5. Click the pencil icon.

  6. Type in the grade.

  7. Click the check mark.

  8. Repeat steps 5, 6, and 7 for each student.

  9. Repeat steps 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 for each part.

Note: Students will have access to Gradebook Only grades as soon as you click the checkmark.
