Setting Up the Presenter Screen

At least two devices are needed for using Visual Aids during a speech day.

  • Classroom Screen Device - a computer that is typically fixed at the front of the classroom and connected to an overhead projector or television.

  • Instructor Grading Device - a device, typically an instructor's laptop or tablet, that you will be grading presentations on.

  1. Follow the protocols for the room to turn on and begin projecting the Classroom Screen Device.

  2. On the Classroom Screen Device, open a web browser (preferably the Google Chrome browser) and navigate to: https://www.studentsheet.com/display.

  3. On the Instructor Grading Device, click on the Participate page on the left side of the screen.

  4. Type in the Screen ID that is displayed on the Classroom Screen Device and click "Connect."

  5. On the Classroom Screen Device, click "Connect."

  6. The Classroom Screen Device will display a black screen and is ready to begin.

  7. On the Classroom Screen Device, click the full screen icon in the top right corner to make the Visual Aids appear full screen.

  8. No more action is needed on the Classroom Screen Device until the end of the class period.

  9. On the Instructor Grading Device, navigate to the Work page.

  10. Click the name of the speech you are wanting to grade.

  11. Click Instructor Evaluation.

  12. Select the first student that is to speak.

  13. When you have that student's Instructor Evaluation open, they will have controls to their Visual Aids and access to their Speaking Notes on the In-Class/Participate page of their device.

  14. Grade the student normally. See this article for how to grade a student.

  15. When you close that student's Instructor Evaluation, they will automatically lose control of the Presenter screen.

  16. Select the next student that is to speak and repeat steps 13, 14, and 15 until all student's have spoken.

  17. At the end of the class period, close the window on the Classroom Screen Device to break the connection.
