Submitting Practice Sessions

When you submit a practice video to Speech Practice, you will receive feedback from artificial intelligence. Your instructor will have access to this feedback as well.

Submitting a Practice Session

  1. While on the Work page inside your class, click on the speech you want to submit a practice session for.

  2. Click "Speech Practice"

  3. On the first screen you will see the number of sessions available for that speech.

    1. If this is your first time practicing for this speech, click "Continue."

    2. You can purchase additional practice sessions as needed.

  4. On the next screen, enter in the required minimum speaking time and maximum speaking time for the speech. At least 1 minute is required and no more than 10 minutes can currently be analyzed. Click "Continue."

  5. Choose how you want to add a practice video.

    1. Upload Video

      1. Click "Continue."

      2. Click “Choose File” and choose the file you want to have analyzed from your device.

      3. Click "Continue."

    2. Record Video

      1. Click "Continue."

      2. If prompted, grant Pops access to your camera and microphone.

      3. Click the red circle to begin recording.

      4. After speaking, click the red circle to stop recording.

  6. On the next screen, you can edit the start/stop times of the video you selected. If your video doesn’t need trimming, you can skip this step. (Note: Large files will automatically skip the trimming option to reduce upload time and you will not have this option).

    1. Scroll down and enter in the start and stop time of the video to trim the video.

    2. Click "Continue."

  7. Verify your video looks good. (Note: Large files will automatically skip this step).

  8. Click "Submit."

  9. Wait for the video to upload. Uploads depend on your internet speed and file size.

  10. Once uploaded, the page will refresh to show “Video Processing" or "Analysis in Progress.” Analysis takes roughly ten minutes (the artificial intelligence has to watch then analyze the speech). You can navigate away and come back later to view your results.
